Memorial Scholarship - Johnny
Hill was a long time area sports official and an 18 year member of
the South Gulf Football Officials Association. He held many
positions with the SGFOA including President and Vice-president. In
January of 1999, Johnny was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and
passed away a brief illness.
In his memory, the South Gulf Football Officials Association
established the Johnny Hill Memorial Scholarship.
Every year the SGFOA awards a one time $500.00
scholarship to a deserving senior from one of the football programs
served by the SGFOA. This senior student has demonstrated
team spirit as well as good
sportsmanship and has a need for financial assistance with
their first year college expenses.
